NAU MAI HAERE MAI, WELCOME TO PAHOIA SCHOOL

'We value our community of learners: teachers, support staff, children and whānau, and welcome their input.'

Pahoia is a rural school situated approximately 20 km north of Tauranga, New Zealand. Our Mission Statement is ‘Preparing Learners for Now and the Future’ and are very proud of what we achieve in our Teaching and Learning community.

With around 200 children Pahoia is a caring and friendly school community where we provide a safe environment and treat all children with dignity and respect.

Our teachers are proud to be part of a passionate team that fosters a positive learning environment.

Our Board, staff and wider school family are committed to the delivery of excellence and achievement in the education of children in our care.

We aim to respond to the needs of the individual, hold high expectations and align everything we do with the values and beliefs that underpin our community.

We value our community of learners: teachers, support staff, children and whānau, and welcome their input.

Pahoia is a school and a community. We aspire to see our tamariki achieve great things in the future.

The artwork above tells the story of a community that is growing its children, each represented by a seed in the soil.

We recognise the importance of understanding our heritage, knowing what it means to be a ‘Kiwi’, living in bi-cultural New Zealand, in a multicultural society.

The painting tells the story of three flax kete.

The first being a repository of knowledge, the second highlighting the cycle of growth from seedlings to great trees, and the third has the seeds spread far and wide.

The images highlight our vision to see our children connected to a global community, with the skills, knowledge and understanding to be able to effectively engage with society, for now and the future.

'To be a community of globally aware and locally grounded, confident, life-long learners. '
